Serifos is in the Cyclades island complex,\u00a0 a wonderful colorful island well known for the stunning beaches still considered one of the lesser known Greek islands. Before my trip there, I had heard many rumors that Serifos has wonderful beaches with crystal clear waters and lovely town but not the best food possible. Are the rumors true? Yes!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Let’s talk a bit more about this beautiful Cycladic island that I really recommend!\"\"<\/p>\n

ACCESS TO THE ISLAND<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

There is no airport on the island. <\/span>Access is by ferry from Piraeus port, 2 to 5 hours depending on the ferry company you will choose. The faster it is, the more expensive it gets usually. HOW MANY DAYS?<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Many visit Serifos for just a weekend but I totally recommend more days since the island has many beaches to discover. Ideally stay at least 4 days like I did. Angel’s tip: <\/span><\/strong><\/span>Serifos’s location is convenient for island hopping as well! Some islands close by are: Sifnos, Kythnos, Tzia, Kimolos, Milos.<\/span><\/p>\n

ACCOMMODATION <\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Choose your accommodation in Hora (the main town of Serifos which is the administrative capital as well) or Livadi (port) where the nightlife and restaurants are. Hora and Livadi have 10-15 minutes drive distance between them and you can find parking in both of them – not easy, though, during high season.<\/span><\/p>\n

Last time, I chose to stay in “Hora” which is perched on top of a hill, amphitheatrically built, offering an amazing view to the Aegean sea. I think it was perfect for me and my friend as we didn’t need to drive at night after being out for drinks! <\/span><\/p>\n

Angel’s tip:<\/strong><\/span>\u00a0\u00a0A wonderful hotel I recommend with exquisite service and the cleanest rooms you can meet are the “N<\/span>autilus serifos” in Livadakia.<\/span><\/p>\n

MEAN OF TRANSPORT<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

There are taxis and a bus connecting the town with the port and the beaches but if you can have a car with you, I totally recommend it. Car, in my opinion, is absolutely necessary to move around the port & Hora and discover the so many wonderful beaches the island has. Bring one from Athens or rent on the island. Road infrustructure is good!<\/p>\n
