Dress accordingly! <span style=\"color: #ff00ff;\"><strong>Angel\u2019s tip:<\/strong> <\/span><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">I visited during Christmas and I faced -10C with snow! Layers are life saver, usually I was wearing 3-4 with a good coat &amp; comfortable shoes.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><strong>Plug type: <\/strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">In NYC and throughout the United States, the standard electric plug type is Type A and Type B. Type A has two flat parallel pins, while Type B adds a grounding pin. Walking is also a great way to explore Manhattan. The metro in NY has a contactless system(OMNY) which I used, where you can tap your credit\/debit card or phone (with Apple Pay, Google Pay, etc.) on the turnstile reader to pay your fare. Cost is $2.90 per ride. <span style=\"color: #ff00ff;\"><strong>Angel\u2019s tip:<\/strong> <\/span><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">OMNY includes fare capping, meaning after 12 rides in a week (Monday to Sunday), all additional rides are free for that week!<\/span> You can also buy a MetroCard (Physical Card), load money and pay $2.90 per ride. Fyi, there is an option for 7-day unlimited rides: $34 (ideal if you\u2019ll take 12+ rides in 7 days).<strong><span style=\"color: #ff00ff;\"> Angel\u2019s tip:<\/span><\/strong> <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">You can buy it from vending machines at subway stations or select stores.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><strong>VISA:<\/strong> \u00a0Ensure you have your passport, visa (if required), travel insurance information, driver\u2019s license, and any other necessary documents.<span style=\"color: #ff00ff;\">\u00a0<strong>Angel\u2019s tip:<\/strong><\/span>\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Visa is not required for Greek nationals visiting USA but you must apply for an ESTA 2-3 weeks before you arrive in US. Spring and Fall are most probably the best months with pleasant weather and less crowds.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 18pt;\"><strong>ACCOMMODATION TIPS\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\">Stay in Manhattan if it\u2019s your first time: Being central means you\u2019ll be walking distance (or a short subway ride) from major landmarks like Times Square, Central Park, and Broadway. Neighborhoods like Midtown, Flatiron, or the Upper West Side are great bases.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\">Location over luxury: NYC is fast-paced &#8211; you\u2019ll likely spend little time in the hotel. Choose something comfortable and central rather than overly fancy. Location can make or break your trip!<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\">Consider Grand Central Area. <strong><span style=\"color: #ff00ff;\">Angel&#8217;s tip:<\/span><\/strong> <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">I stayed at the Grand Hyatt Grand Central Terminal, and I totally recommend it.<\/span> The location was unbeatable &#8211; literally connected to the subway station, making it super easy to move around the city.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\">Book early, especially for peak seasons: NYC prices rise fast, especially around Christmas, spring break or September Fashion Week. The earlier you book, the more options you\u2019ll have (and usually better rates). <strong><span style=\"color: #ff00ff;\">Angel&#8217;s tip:<\/span><\/strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"> I booked on July for Christmas and one month ago, the room I stayed had doubled its price!<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\">Look for hotels with flexible cancellation: Plans change in NYC! It\u2019s smart to book places that let you cancel or modify up to a few days before arrival.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\">Want a different vibe?: If you\u2019ve been to NYC before or prefer something trendier, check out Williamsburg (Brooklyn) or SoHo. Stylish, artsy and full of cafes and cool boutiques.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\">Walkability is key: Always check how far your accommodation is from a subway line or major avenue. You can visit by taking the Statue City Cruises ferry from Battery Park.
