Alternatively, ferries also depart from Kos Town.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If you\u2019re already staying on Kos, there are also plenty of organized day trips to Nisyros.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong>How Many Days Do You Need?<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Although many visitors come on a day trip from Kos, I could easily stay for 10 days !! I highly recommend spending 2-3 days on the island.<\/p>\n<p>This gives you enough time to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>explore the villages<\/li>\n<li>visit the volcano without rushing<\/li>\n<li>enjoy the beaches<\/li>\n<li>watch the sunset<\/li>\n<li>discover the local food<\/li>\n<li>experience the island once the day-trippers leave.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The atmosphere changes completely in the afternoon and evening. Most of the island\u2019s highlights, including the volcano, picturesque villages, hidden beaches and panoramic viewpoints, are spread across the island, while public transportation is limited and no taxis.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff00ff;\"><strong>Angel\u2019s tip:<\/strong><\/span> <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">I rented my car from &#8220;Manos K&#8221; car rentals and the whole experience was smooth, easy and reliable. Having your own vehicle gives you the freedom to explore Nisyros at your own pace and make the most of your visit.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong>\u03a0\u03bf\u03cd \u03bd\u03b1 \u03bc\u03b5\u03af\u03bd\u03b5\u03c4\u03b5<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Mandraki: the island\u2019s capital and my top recommendation. You\u2019ll find the largest selection of hotels, restaurants, caf\u00e9s &amp; shops, the port, beautiful whitewashed streets and some of the island\u2019s best sunsets!!<\/li>\n<li>Other Villages like Emporios, Nikia or Pali if you\u2019re looking for a much quieter stay &amp; peaceful atmosphere.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff00ff;\"><strong>Angel\u2019s tip:<\/strong><\/span><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"> I chose Mandraki and booked a house with an incredible view called Poseidon house<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong>\u039c\u03b5\u03c4\u03b1\u03ba\u03b9\u03bd\u03ae\u03c3\u03b5\u03b9\u03c2<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Renting a car, scooter or ATV is highly recommended. Walk inside Stefanos Crater<\/p>\n<p>This is the highlight of every visit. Visit Panagia Spiliani Monastery<\/p>\n<p>Panagia Spiliani sits above Mandraki and offers one of the island\u2019s best panoramic views. Explore Mandraki village<\/p>\n<p>The island\u2019s capital is full of narrow alleys, traditional whitewashed houses, caf\u00e9s and small shops. Take your time to wander without a map &#8211; it\u2019s one of those villages where getting lost is part of the experience.<\/p>\n<p>Things to Do in Mandraki<\/p>\n<p>*\u00a0Wander through the beautiful whitewashed alleys.<br \/>\n* Browse the charming local shops selling handmade products and souvenirs.<br \/>\n* Watch one of the island\u2019s most beautiful sunsets.<br \/>\n* Visit Palaiokastro, one of the best-preserved ancient fortifications in the Aegean, offering panoramic views over Mandraki and the sea.<br \/>\n* Explore the Archaeological Museum of Nisyros to discover the island\u2019s history through ancient artifacts dating from prehistoric to Byzantine times.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">4. Wander through Emporios village<\/p>\n<p>Once one of the island\u2019s largest villages, Emporios is now a peaceful mountain village with incredible volcano views, traditional architecture and a wonderfully relaxed atmosphere. Enjoy the breathtaking view from Profitis Ilias Chapel<\/p>\n<p>One of my absolute favorite viewpoints. Profitis Ilias Chapel offers panoramic views over the volcano on one side and the endless blue Aegean Sea on the other. Visit the Volcanological Museum in Nikia<\/p>\n<p>Located in Nikia, the Volcanological Museum of Nisyros explains how the volcano formed and why Nisyros remains volcanically active today. It\u2019s definitely worth visiting before heading to the crater.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">8.
