Yes, I am sure you are sooo sick and tired of the situation with the coronavirus pandemic worldwide and you have missed travelling, being free and enjoying having fun with your friends outside without thinking of anything.
My country, Greece was in total lockdown the first 5 months in 2020 and from November 2020 till May 2021. At least i took advantage of the summer 2020 that we were more free but not having travelled on 2021 and having missed it soooo much I took the decision to risk it and travel in a country that I dare to say it is safer than Greece, Dubai.
WHERE TO… ?
The steps:
- I checked which countries have quarantine when a person from abroad travels there. Some countries were not accepting tourists at all, others were open but tousists should stay for quarantine 1 week, others were more relaxed and there was no quarantine but you should do a PCR test after your arrival there. It is a pity to fly to a destination and have to stay in a hotel for 7 days, right?
- Decision was made: I decided to fly to Dubai in United Arab Emirates where neither a quarantine was needed nor a PCR test again after your arrival there.
- Checked my passport to be valid for at least the next 6 months, I was lucky as it was!
- I checked which are the appropriate steps you need to follow in order to take the green light to fly, a vaccination or a negative PCR test written in English from a laboratory 72 hrs before departure was necessary for the airline, Emirates (there are companies requiring less hrs before flight so you need to check).
- Many countries have mandatory completion of a tracel form prior departure or arrival for all their visitors or permanent residents. From Greece I had to do the e-PLF submission via http://travel.gov.gr. All travellers must complete their PLF until the day before entering the country and leaving the country, providing detailed information on their point of departure/entrance, the duration of previous stays in other countries, and the address of their stay while in Greece or abroad. One PLF should be submitted per family. Be careful to complete that again before your flight back!
And off we go…!
